Lena Marianne Andersson , born 11 April 1955 in Fritsla , Gothenburg , Swedish singer.
Lena Andersson moved with his parents as a 7-year-old to Halmstad and started in the middle of the spring semester of the first class. She was given as 12-year-old a guitar and realized that her voice suited folk music in the style of Joan Baez and Judy Collins . Lena was music to his best friend Pia's texts and in December 1970 she sent seven songs with guitar accompaniment to Janne Forsell program "So it can be." When Lena's songs were played on the radio, so heardStig Anderson himself. In January went Lena and her father train to Stockholm and she did a live recording of a late Friday night in the "Midnight Hour" and met while Stig Anderson, who wanted to do an LP with her. The album Lena 15 recorded winter holiday week in 1971, that includes guitarist Janne Schaffer and the piano January Boquist .
She television debut when she was 15 in April 1971 in Hylands corner with the song Is it any wonder that one get away sometime ( I'm Gonna Be a Country Girl Again by Buffy Sainte-Mariewith Swedish lyrics by Stig Anderson). This song went straight in to Svensktoppens first place and she became so famous throughout the country.
She ran a people's park tour that year with 79 gigs around Sweden. She had a brief heyday in the early 1970's, when she took an active part in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1972 with the song Say it with a song , with whom she came in third. 1972 released an LP in Japan among others two songs in Japanese and she attended the same year, along with Bjorn and Benny in "Tokyo Music Festival" with the Better To Have Loved and won first prize. She figured after a period as a background singer in ABBA , among other things in the film ABBA - The Movie (1977 ). That same year she participated in Melodifestivalen with the song The best there is (ofTed and Kenneth Gärdestad ) with whom she came in eighth place.
In the early 1980s came a couple of pop singles together with guitarist Lars Finberg ( Tonight , Lay Baby Lay , Build Me Up , and Inspiration). It all ran but then out of steam. The last album (except compilations in 1991 and 2002), Tonight / Coming Through , which was given in 1983. In August 1985, Andersson Christian , on a beach in Mallorca. She moved from Uppsala down to Småland in 1997 and worked among others together with pianist Magnus Eklöf - it was a lot of gigs for four years. 2001, the last year in Sweden, played Lena Andersson together with Nizzan Jazz Band in the old home town of Halmstad.
On 26 May 2001 , she married American Tobe Hubbard in Easter All's church and now has the last name Andersson Hubbard. She moved on22 August 2001 to the United States, a few mil north of San Diego , California , USA . Lena sings now gospel, ballads and jazz with religious texts, also praises the church, both as körmedlem and worship leader. In April 2007, they moved, when her husband got a new job as children's pastor in the city of Turlock .
