Björn Almstedt is one of our Senior Mastering Engineers who has many years of experience of mastering audio, primarily jazz, classical music and acoustic music.He was the engineer at Europa film studio for the recording of the Ring Ring album in 1973.

SELECTED WORKS

In the beginning of his career he was primarily a technician and sat behind the music for many of the Swedish versions of several Disney films in the 80s. Films such as “Oliver & Company” as well as “Bambi”. Without question, Björn Almstedt has the most experience of restoring old analogue tapes and vinyl records in Sweden. His Jazz discography includes great names such as Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Teddy Wilson & Billie Holiday – to name a few.


He is currently based at Cutting Room Studios which is an audio mastering studio located in Stockholm, Sweden since 1980. Cutting Room was founded in the 1970s by Peter Strindberg and is currently owned by Björn Engelmann. Sitting in a five studio location they have dedicated three of them to audio mastering. The remaining two studios have been dedicated to digital film, video restoration, DVD & Blu-ray as well as 7.1 audio mastering, which Cutting Room has been also working with since 2001.
